One of my favorite places to knit is the Barley Mill Pub on SE Hawthorne in Portland, Oregon.  There is enough light - enough meaning it’s not dark.  Beer, knitting, the aura of Jerry Garcia.  A Hammerhead and commie burger and I’m set.  Roberta - where are you??

Another great place is Marino on SE 41st and Division in Portland.  The owner, Dario, makes cappucino with love.  It also says on his business cards he’s “Coffee Emporer.”  The light in there isn’t great either, but the coffee.  Maybe you can get lucky and the older Italian gentleman with be there with his violin and will serenade you - “Volaire…..”
